All faculty, staff, and/or students are invited to nominate a female student who has had significant impact on the lives of women for the first annual Yvette Upton Empowerment Award. Students may self-nominate.
Award’s Mission:
The award is named in honor of Yvette Upton, founding Director of the Georgia Tech Women’s Resource Center (and former Assistant Dean of Students). The award focuses on the service, support and advocacy Yvette Upton provided to the women of Georgia Tech from January 2000 to December 2009.
Deadline for Submission:
All materials must be mailed to the Women’s Resource Center, 353 Ferst Drive, Ste 131, c/o Colleen Riggle or e-mailed to colleen@gatech.edu and be received by Friday, March 30 by 5 p.m. The winner will be recognized during the Up with the White and Gold Ceremony on Monday, April 23, 2012, at 7 p.m. in the Ballroom, Student Center. Nomination forms are available from the Women’s Resource Center website or womenscenter.gatech.edu.
