Marketing Intern
FUNCTION:
The marketing & development intern supports the Director of Development in producing communications that raise the agency’s public profile and in expanding the base of support, including the donor and volunteer pool and in-kind contributions.
GENERAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Assisting in the development of a social media strategy, including redesign/regular updates to Facebook
Updating CaringWorks’ communications database and entering new contacts
Assisting with the design and production of the agency newsletter
Communications and logistics planning for CaringWorks’ 2011 luncheon
Researching prospective donors, volunteer resources, in-kind gift opportunities, etc.
Other projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent writing and editing skills
Social media savvy (Facebook, Twitter)
Attention to detail
Self-starter
Organizational skills
Professional phone manner & oral communication skills
MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Design or layout skills a plus (Publisher, InDesign, etc.)
Rising junior or senior preferred; grad students may also apply
Interest in social services/homelessness a plus
The position requires 14-20 hours a week, with the possibility to continue through the fall semester. It is unpaid, though a highly successful candidate may have the opportunity to transition into a paid, part-time position after a probationary period. Hours are flexible, starting mid to late May.

Operations Intern
GENERAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Assists in agency grant renewals, technical submissions and Annual Progress Reports.
Maintains databases and mailings for mass mailing purposes
Assist with data collection and analysis to facilitate program evaluation process
Assists with monthly draws for all CaringWorks’ grants and contracts
Assists with the preparation of staff and board meetings as needed
Writes and compiles meeting documentation and disseminates to appropriate parties
Schedules meetings for Sr. staff
Assists with creating forms and other documents needed for programs
Creates standard memos, letters and correspondence used when communicating with other collaborative agencies, interns etc…
Assists with the planning and coordination of fundraising and other special events
Other administrative duties, as needed
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Experience with Microsoft Office suite
Detail-oriented
Ability to multi-task
Familiarity with basic office machines such as copy machine, fax, printers and postage meters.
Valid Drivers’ License and transportation
The position entails walking, standing, bending, and the ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
