Student Interns needed for the Robert C. Williams Paper Museum: The Museum features the Dard Hunter Collection of artifacts and books on paper and hand papermaking. We are located in the IPST building at the intersection of 10th St. and Hemphill. We require all of our students to be available for a minimum of 1-2 mornings per week to assist with our educational events as needed.

We are looking for student interns in the following roles:
Education Program Intern
Supervised by: Fran Rottenberg, Education Curator
This is an opportunity to learn about the Education Program in a museum and to explore the history of papermaking. We will train students to guide group tours and to make paper.
Duties may include:
· Assisting during group tours for adults and children and during papermaking activities
· Helping with the design of brochures and flyers and daily museum activities
Skills required:
· Enjoying working with the public and with children
Number of interns needed: 2
Membership, Sales, & Public Relations Intern
Supervised by: Amaris Gutierrez-Ray, Assistant to the Director
Duties may include:
- Planning and creating displays in the Museum gift shop as needed
- Designing ads for various marketing campaigns
- Writing the monthly newsletter
Skills required:
· Good design sensibilities, and capable on programs such as, but not limited to: Publisher, Pages, Photoshop, InDesign
· Good writing skills, creative initiative, and the capability and motivation to work independently
· Marketing experience a plus
Number of interns needed: 1
Exhibitions & Collections Intern
Supervised by: Teri Williams, Curator, & Juan Chevere, Project Manager
Duties may include:
- Accessioning, organizing, and caring for the permanent collection in Collection Storage under the supervision of the Museum Registrar
- Working with the Curator and Project Manager on the installation and take down of exhibits in the changing gallery space
Skills required:
· Good design sensibilities
· A strong sense of organization
· Familiarity with basic hand tool usage, such as hammering, painting, drilling, etc.
Number of interns needed: 1
All student interns will be expected to use positive attitudes and enthusiasm to play an important role in a small but energetic team! There is also the possibility of working independently on a project according to the intern’s specific interests in the Museum. There are possibilities for paid positions upon completion of one unpaid semester. Raises are given upon incremental reviews.
Compensation: Class credit (previous students have received HTS and LCC credit, as well as basic humanities credit). Qualified Work Study students may receive monetary compensation.
Hours: 10 hours a week, but this is flexible
Start Date: Summer Semester, and as early as the week after Spring Semester
