HTS students have done this internship and loved it. They are looking for a spring 2011 intern.

Student Intern needed for the Robert C. Williams Paper Museum:


Duties may include:
The Robert C. Williams Paper Museum is an internationally renowned resource on the history of paper and paper technology. In addition to more than 2,000 books, the Museum features a remarkable collection of over 10,000 watermarks, papers, tools, machines, and manuscripts. The Museum features the Dard Hunter Collection of artifacts and books on paper and hand papermaking. We are interested in involving students from the Ivan Allen College in our daily happenings, whether it is through an internship or class credit. We are located in the IPST building on the intersection of 10th St and Hemphill. 

  • Assistance during school/regular tours, workshops, and interactive papermaking activities
  • Accessioning and caring for the permanent collection in Collection Storage under the supervision of the Museum Registrar 
  • Working with the Curator on the installation of exhibits in the changing gallery space
  • Planning and creating displays in the Museum gift shop as needed 
  • Working independently on a project according to your interests in the Museum 
  • Writing a monthly column in the Museum newsletter 
  • Using your positive attitude and enthusiasm to play an important role in a small but energetic team!
Compensation: Class credit (previous students have received HTS and LCC credit, as well as basic humanities credit). Qualified Work Study students may receive monetary compensation.

Hours: 10 hours a week, but this is flexible
