Six Flags Public Relations Internship

This is a paid intern position in the Public Relations department for the spring semester. This position is designed to assist the Communications Manager in dealing with media, donations, brochures, daily operation of the department and special projects at both Six Flags Over Georgia and Six Flags White Water.

Responsibilities:
    · Write, edit and distribute local news releases and advisories.
    · Serve as a Social Media representative for both parks.
    · Collect and organizing media clips and reports.
    · Distribute park brochures.
    · Handle media requests for tickets.
    · Responsible for selecting groups to receive charitable donations for Atlanta parks and for       distribution/tracking donations.
    · Respond to guest complaints related to Public Relations.
    · Responsible for updates to the websites for Atlanta parks.
    · Answer incoming calls for the Public Relations office, order needed supplies, sort and             respond to mail and other administrative duties as assigned.
    · Escort media/photographers around park when needed.
    · Aid with logistics for park special events and concerts.
    · Assist Communications Manager with any tasks assigned.

Qualifications:
    · Should be currently enrolled in an accredited 4-year university with a declared major of Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Business, or other related field.
    · Should be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
    · Should have knowledge of HTML and Adobe Photoshop for web management program.
    · Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
    · Friendly and energetic disposition.
    · Knowledge about Six Flags Atlanta parks is a plus.
    · Previous intern/work experience in Public Relations a plus.
    · Willing to work long days and weekends when required.
    · Be able to problem solve.
    · Enjoy working with others.
    · Strong guest service skills a must.
