Emory Healthcare is the largest and most comprehensive health system in Georgia. It is the clinical arm of the Woodruff Health Sciences Center of Emory University, an academic health science center focused on missions of teaching, research, and health care. The Market Strategy & Support function plays a critical role in successfully increasing new patient acquisition and increasing physician referrals by analyzing the market environment and developing marketing strategy and tactics to build awareness of Emory Healthcare’s service offerings, research and medical advancements.

Responsibilities:  This internship is full or part-time.  Market Strategy & Support Interns will work closely with marketing managers providing support for marketing strategy and tactical execution in order to support the brand and strengthen Emory Healthcare’s overall position in the marketplace. In addition to general marketing support, interns will have ownership over a specific project in Market Strategy & Support that has practical impact on Emory Healthcare. Intern projects can cover a wide range of activities depending on the intern’s personal background, interests and skill sets. Some examples of potential intern projects include:
· Competitive analysis and research for Emory Healthcare’s core service lines
· Development and tactical execution of marketing plans for secondary product lines and/or special events
· Project management, logistical coordination and execution of creative assets, including print, online and digital media
· Copywriting, editing and proofreading for marketing collateral and web content
· Web/Social Media trends analysis and/or tactical execution
· Mystery Shopping and Patient Access analysis of internal departments and majorcompetitors
· Corporate sponsorship:  Evaluating and writing proposals of incoming sponsorship; coordinating logistics of sponsorship requirements and benefits

Requirements
· Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize work without missing critical deadlines.
· Requires the ability to work both independently and cooperatively with a variety of individuals inside and outside the organization
· Requires the ability to write business and creative content, with a strong knowledge of the English language and proper use of grammar and spelling.
· Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and resourcefulness are mandatory.
· Marketing knowledge with ability to apply creative and strategic ideas for various levels of the planning process and to communicate and promote marketing ideas and concepts to others.
· Must be able to analyze data, determine solutions, make sound judgments and carry out actions in an effective manner.
· Exceptional computer skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Web site or social media experience is a plus.
· Previous internship and/or marketing experience preferred.

Time Frame:  Now accepting applications for Winter/Spring 2011 (Jan-May) and Summer 2011 (May-Aug).
Compensation:  Internships are non-paid positions. Parking or Marta card provided.  Eligible for class credit.
