Student Intern Needed for the Georgia Tech Work Abroad Program

The Work Abroad Program is an academic program helping Georgia Tech students to gain paid practical international work experience directly related to his or her major.

Job Description:

The Intern will mainly focus on assisting the Work Abroad Staff in daily tasks, while serving as the first point of contact for students.  For more information, click the "Read More" button.
 Typical tasks include:

·         Assisting with daily office operations, such as greeting students as they enter for appointments and general questions, and collaborating with the Work Abroad Staff
·         Researching global company contacts for potential GT internships abroad
·         Analyzing Work Abroad’s marketing and survey results using basic statistics in MS Excel
·         Preparing the logistics of various Work Abroad events
·         Trip planning assistance for the Work Abroad staff
·         Implement the marketing of the Work Abroad Program by using various types of media including the Work Abroad weekly emails, the Division of Professional Practice blog, Facebook, and flyers around campus
·         Updating the Work Abroad website with new job postings each week
·         Performing various administrative tasks using the Division of Professional Practice database
·         Creating and presenting presentations using MS Powerpoint about aspects of the Work Abroad Program
·         Develop and help author the Division of Professional Practice blog
·         Write, create and coordinate the semesterly Work Abroad Student Publication
·         Create a marketing plan for AY 2010-2011, broken down by month, involving the use of Facebook, emails, blogging, posters on campus, etc.
·         Edit and design the Work Abroad Yearbook
·         Other duties, as assigned

Requirements:


·         Undergraduate or Graduate, various majors accepted
·         Some knowledge of MS Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel), and MS Publisher or Adobe Photoshop is a plus
·         Ability to work both independently and with teams
·         Ability to adjust to a fast-paced working environment
·         Professional communication skills through email, telephone, and in person
·         Positive attitude
