The Governor’s Intern Program is looking for bright, hardworking and enthusiastic people to intern at the State Capitol during fall 2010. Interns work in a fast-paced environment and enjoy many opportunities to learn more about politics, state government and the legislative process.

Each intern is assigned to a department within the Governor’s Office based on his or her interests and skills.  Potential placements include Policy, Communications, Government Affairs, Executive Appointments and Constituent Services.

The application process is highly competitive. Applicants may be college juniors or seniors, recent graduates or graduate students.  All majors are encouraged to apply and interns will receive an hourly stipend based upon their education level.  The fall internship will start August 23rd and end December 17th.  Interns are required to work 20 to 40 hours per week.

For more information or to apply for a position, please visit the Governor’s Intern Program Web site at www.intern.gov.georgia.gov or email or fax your resume, a cover letter, reference list and a writing sample to interns@gov.state.ga.us or 404-656-5947.  Fall Internship applications are due on July 30th and preference will be given to early applications.
